When you’re talking about the true Queens of pop music, you’d find it hard not to place Marina Diamandis high on that list. Known by the stage name, ‘MARINA’, and previously ‘Marina and the Diamonds’, the Welsh singer-songwriter has conquered the music scene with her incredible talents. With chart-topping hits like, “Primadonna” and “Bubblegum Bitch” the 36-year-old has already had an illustrious career and is a household name amongst most of the world. MARINA released her fifth studio album, ‘Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land’ in June 2021 and released the deluxe version in January 2022.  Marina now heads out on a gigantic tour celebrating the brilliant record and we were lucky enough to catch the superstar as she took over the Manchester O2 Apollo for a very special sold-out show. Support for the night came from the amazing Maeve and Tove Stryke. 

MARINA took to the gigantic stage the room was instantly filled with screams of joy and the night began. She kicked off the show in fitting way with the title track of the album and tour “Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land” and then pounced straight into the up-beat track “Venus Fly Trap”. Throughout the entire show MARINA took plenty of time to thank her fans for supporting her in Manchester and in her career in general, she performed with all her heart and it was so clear to see on this special night. Love and all-around good vibes flowed throughout the packed-out venue and this just complimented the amazing performance that was unfolding Infront of the crowd. MARINA would go on to perform fan favourites such as:” Oh No!”, “How to Be a Heartbreaker” and “Teen Idle” before returning for a much well-received encore of “Goodbye” and the infamous track “Primadonna”.
