R&B/Neo-Soul pioneer and icon, Maxwell will be in Fayetteville, North Carolina for his highly acclaimed “NIGHT: The Trilogy Tour” this Friday, October 20th at The Crown Coliseum Complex. This will be his first appearance in Fayetteville but certainly not in North Carolina with his most recent in Wilmington last fall. Tickets went on sale May 26th but there are still few tickets left so act now via Ticketmaster or at CrownComplexNC.com.
Maxwell is currently on a run of consistent U.S. and international tour dates. The dates came on the heels of a 2022 sold-out 25-date arena run with Anthony Hamilton and Joe. In addition to the Hollywood Bowl, the tour featured notable stops at San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall (accompanied by the San Francisco Symphony), Wynn’s Encore Theater in Las Vegas, and most recently Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center (accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra and Grammy nominated rapper Wale).
From February 10 – 14, 2024 on the Norwegian Pearl, Maxwell is taking to the sea in the inaugural Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite Cruise; four nights under the Caribbean night’s sky featuring special performances by Maxwell, Ledisi, Robert Glasper, Sabrina Claudio, Musiq Soulchild, Leela James, Gallant and more. The cruise will make stops at Great Stirup Cay & Nassau in the Bahamas.
Maxwell has artfully managed to transfix music lovers for more than two decades, releasing five studio albums, all in his own time and all duly anointed as classics. The soul singer redefined soul music in April of 1996 when he released his critically acclaimed debut on Columbia, ‘Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite.’ It earned Grammy nominations, double platinum status and RIAA gold for the single, “Ascension (Don’t Ever Wonder).” The platinum albums ‘Embrya’ (1998) and ‘Now’ (2001) followed. After eight years, 2009’s ‘BLACKsummers’night’ debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and won two Grammys, including Best R&B Album. To date, Maxwell has achieved 4 platinum album certifications from the RIAA. His last album ‘blackSUMMERS’night,’ the second installment of his musical trilogy, earned Maxwell his third Grammy (Best R&B Song for “Lake By The Ocean”) an NAACP Image Award (Outstanding Male Artist), and a Soul Train Award (Best R&B/Soul Male Artist). He was also recently honored with the “Legend” Award at the 2021 Soul Train Awards and performed “The Lady in My Life” for a celebrated Michael Jackson Tribute at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. His critically acclaimed ‘The Night Tour’ also made Pollstar’s 2022 list of “Top 20 Global Concert Tours,” determined by average box office gross and the average ticket price for shows worldwide. Maxwell’s upcoming ‘blacksummers’NIGHT’ will cap off a journey he first embarked upon over a decade ago as one of the most-anticipated R&B events of 2023.
