Halifax’s Piece Hall was buzzing with excitement as McFly returned for their second sold-out outdoor concert at the iconic venue. Following the success of their first show, the pressure was on for the pop-rock quartet to deliver another unforgettable performance—and they did not disappoint.

Before McFly took the stage, the evening kicked off with a lively set from support act NOAHFINNCE. The rising star’s energetic pop-punk sound was the perfect warm-up, captivating the crowd with his powerful stage presence. NOAHFINNCE didn’t just impress with his music, though. He charmed the audience with a heartfelt story, revealing that the first concert he ever attended as a child was none other than McFly. By the time he wrapped up his set, it was clear NOAHFINNCE had won over a legion of new fans.

As the sun set over the historic Piece Hall, McFly emerged to a roar of applause, launching into their first track “Where Did All the Guitars Go?” with the infectious energy they’ve become known for over the past two decades. Tom Fletcher, Danny Jonses, Dougie Poynter, and Harry Judd delivered a polished yet playful set, blending nostalgia with their newer material in a way that kept both longtime fans and newer followers equally engaged.

The band’s setlist was a perfect mix of classic hits like “All About You,” “Obviously,” and “Five Colours in Her Hair,” alongside tracks from their more recent albums. Each song was met with mass singalongs, with the crowd echoing the lyrics back to the band in joyful unison.

What stood out most, though, was McFly’s chemistry. The years haven’t dampened their dynamic—they play as tightly as ever, while still joking and teasing each other between songs, making the audience feel like they were part of a giant inside joke. Tom Fletcher’s soaring vocals, Danny Jones’ guitar riffs, Dougie Poynter’s playful bass lines, and Harry Judd’s tight drumming created a live sound that was both familiar and electrifying.

The atmosphere at The Piece Hall was nothing short of magical. The venue itself, with its stunning architecture and open-air space, added a grandeur to the evening, while the warm summer night created the perfect backdrop for the band’s energetic performance. McFly’s ability to engage the crowd with personal stories and humor, alongside their undeniable musical talent, cemented their status as one of Britain’s most beloved bands even after all these years.
