Melanie Martinez performed to a sold out crowd at the 713 Music Hall on June 16 as part of the “Portals Tour” and wow – was it an amazing show.

Fans spent hours in the Houston heat waiting in line for a good spot for the show, it shows the dedication they have for their favorite artist.. As soon as you entered the venue it felt like you were immediately transported into a different place. Fans were dressed up in amazing fairy-esque costumes, covered in glitter, beads and jewelry. Others even replicated some of Martinez’s tour outfits, it was incredible to see. Support for the night came from Tanukichan.

It was finally time for the show to start, the lights dimmed and the venue was filled with screams of excitement from the audience. Martinez came out in the famous prosthetics and started performing “Death”. Immediately the fans joined by singing in unison – you could see the excitement in all of their faces. The stage revealed a fairy-esque setup with tons of nature elements and incredible visuals, it did not feel like a concert venue, and felt as if we were transported to another dimension. The singer continued by singing songs from the “Portals” album such as “Void”, “Light Shower” and a personal favorite “Spider Web”. Everyone was hooked by the show, whether it be by the visuals or Melanie’s voice, we were certainly given an experience. Melanie thanked fans for coming out and spending the night with her, soon confetti cannons erupted across the venue and filled it with butterfly shaped confetti, the smile on all of the fans faces was priceless. The show ended with “Milk Of The Siren”, Martinez thanked fans once again for coming out and told everyone to get home safely. The “Portals Tour” was such a unique and memorable show that will live in the minds of fans for a very long time. If Melanie Martinez ever comes to a city near you, please make sure to attend, it’s going to be a show you won’t want to miss!
