Mesmé hit the stage at The Lodge Room in Highland Park last Friday night and showed why she’s such a hot name on the electronic music scene. For 90 minutes, she slowly built her atmospheric house and techno sound with patience and deliberate, intricate left turns. With about 15 minutes left in her set, the climax of all her work hit and the crowd was euphoric. Later in the night, The Field played and cerebral set that rewarded the moment instead of the drop. The two DJs had contrasting styles, but it made for a memorable and diverse night of gorgeous electronic music.
