Miles Kane @ Arts Club - Liverpool, U.K.

Miles Kane stopped ‘home’ with his EU/UK tour to promote his 5th album ‘One Man Band’ with two sold out dates in Arts Club, Liverpool.

The Birkenhead born singer-songwriter, known for his razor-sharp songwriting, ability for teamwork and forming well known supergroups like The Last Shadow Puppets with Alex Turner and The Jaded Hearts Club with members of Blur, Muse and The Zutons.

First on the stage appeared young local artist Elis Murphy. His Dylan-esque like songs drew in the crowd. He already has a big fan base which proves a massive potential of this massive Liverpool talent.

After 9pm Miles Kane strode onto the stage with the confidence of a rock god. His signature swagger, that unmistakable blend of mod charm and rock ‘n’ roll attitude, was on full display as he launched into the opening chords of ‘One Man Band’.

Later we could hear songs like ‘Rearrange’ and ‘Coup de grace’. It was clear that Kane was on a mission to deliver a show that would leave a lasting impression. Let’s just remind everyone that Miles was only accompanied by drummer Name. She brought a level of energy and chemistry that’s hard to find.

The new album ‘one man band’ was produced in Liverpool by Kane’s cousin and The Coral’s frontman, James Skelly. Few song were written together with guest musicians including Tom Ogden from the Blossoms. ‘Troubled Son’ was next. The singer’s voice was in top form, effortlessly soaring trough the hooks and melodies.

Friday night in Liverpool means good fun. Mixed age fans were enjoying themselves dancing and singing during the whole show.

Miles’s kinetic energy was infectious, drawing the entire room into his orbit as he careened about the stage, guitar in hand, his eyes locked on the audience with a fierce, unyielding intensity. As the night went on, another Liverpool legend, Dave McCabe of The Zutons appeared on stage to perform a cover of ‘You Will You Won’t’ with Kane taking on bass duties

The last song ‘Come Closer’ was performed together with Elis Murphy who accompanied on harmonica finished the evening. Miles delivered a blistering performance that left the crowd breathless and it was clear that he was genuinely thrilled to be playing in Liverpool, a city that has a special place in his heart.
