ACL is back! As always, the lineup for the 2021 Austin City Limits Music Festival features some of today’s biggest stars. While many ACL veterans will return to the stage for a much-needed encore, this fall marks the first ACL appearance for several big-name artists. Miley Cyrus is no stranger to performing, though the multi-platinum recording artist has actually never performed live at ACL Fest. Given her mega-star status and undeniable talent, Cyrus is sure to draw one of the biggest crowds at ACL for a few reasons.
This is Miley’s First ever ACL Performance
As one of the biggest names in pop music to date, Cyrus has performed all across the world. Whether on tour or as a featured performer, it’s hard to find a stage that she hasn’t graced with her unmistakable powerhouse vocals. Yet this is the first year that Cyrus will take the stage at ACL Fest in Austin. For many festival goers, this will be their first-time seeing Cyrus perform live after essentially growing up alongside her. Pre- and post- Hannah Montana fans alike will push and nudge their way through the crowds to witness their former teen idol right before their eyes.
Cyrus Has a new Pop-Rock Album
Cyrus recently released her first ever rock album. As the daughter of Country superstar Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley was born and raised in the world of country music. Because of her deep-seeded Nashville roots, Cyrus was a country crooner at heart long before fully assimilating into the world of pop music. Now, with the release of her seventh studio album “Plastic Hearts,” Cyrus is transcending boundaries yet again. The album features some epic collaborations with rock legends Billy Idol and Joan Jett, and was named one of the best albums of 2020 by US Weekly. The critically acclaimed album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart and also includes the hit song “Prisoner”, a collaboration with British pop star Dua Lipa. Given the album’s mid-Covid release, performances of Cyrus’s new songs have largely been limited to online streams and TV broadcasts. ACL ‘21 will be the first time Miley will play her full set in front of a large, live audience, as the festival is opening at full capacity. This also means that fans will see her live before she takes the album on tour.
And finally, She’s Miley Fricken Cyrus
Need I say more? Miley Cyrus is a multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated artist with one of the most recognizable voices in music. Her raw talent and star power are just some of the reasons why she is one of the most anticipated headliners at ACL Fest this year.
