MWN: Hi how are you, can you introduce yourself for me and tell me about yourself ?

Nat’lee: Hi! I’m Nat’lee I am 25 years old. I consider myself a soul singer, I am a mom, I am a dancer, I am a creative and I’m happy to be here!

MWN: Is this your first time performing at SXSW? How do you feel?

Nat’lee: Yes! It’s definitely a crazy opportunity because of many reasons, its my first festival, my first time in Austin. My first time that I am presenting my own songs, my own individual projects and I’m super excited.

MWN: Is there anything that you’ve done in Austin so far? Or anything you’re looking forward to doing?

Nat’lee: Unfortunately no, we just landed, got ready in 15 minutes and just got here from Miami!

MWN: Who are some of your musical influences?

Nat’lee: People that influence my music and my project I think are definitely artists that are really grounded. I feel like myself as a singer if I had to say one word that describes me as an artist and human being is the word soul. I want my music and my artistry to really transmit that to the listener and the fan that i’m grounded and that it makes you feel a sense of home and sense of self.

MWN: What’s your creative process like when writing a song or album?

Nat’lee: I think that my creative process is never the same. I am really hypersensitive to energy, so i allow the energy in the room and the energy that the universe is giving me at the moment to determine where i flow as a creative, do I want to make a happy song, a sad song, but i always make sure that i’m feeling and that my feelings are very transparent in whatever it is that i am creating.

MWN: If there was someone that was wanting to follow your footsteps what would you like to tell them?

Nat’lee: First, I’d tell them don’t follow my footsteps, follow your own footsteps. From experience i’d tell them to stay true to yourself, what your message or purpose is. Once you find what your purpose is stick to that and don’t betray that because then everything flops, you betrayed yourself, always keep it real with yourself first.

MWN: Thanks for your time!
