Welsh electronic music duo, Overmono, put on an incredible show at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. The duo consisting of brothers Ed and Tom Russell released their long-awaited debut album, Good Lies this year and it has been on repeat.
Fans were gathered on the dancefloor-ready to be taken into another world with their music. As the lights went dark, the brothers headed on stage, each at their own deck. The LED screens gave a warm welcoming greeting Los Angeles with a hello. Then the music began to slowly build up in complete darkness. All you can see and feel is the music when suddenly the lights of the LED screens start to flash in a heartbeat fashion to Overmono’s song “Feelings Plain”. Overmono mixed that song into their song “Gunk” bringing the venue to life with their beats. A night of good music was underway.
The fans were feeling every beat as they were lost in the music. They applauded the songs showing their appreciation for the Overmono. Overmono played an infectious blend of the music from their recent album. It felt like a rush being in the crowd feeling the energy from everyone. Another element of their show to admire is the lighting and colors that flow with the music playing. The lighting complimented the feelings of nostalgia and created a mesmerizing atmosphere. The images on the screen created a psychedelic effect that was captivating. The brothers know how to play an amazing mix live that feels euphoric and energetic. You knew an addictive beat was about to drop when you saw the brothers each place a single hand on the center deck. For their heartfelt track “Walk Thru Water”, we got a special guest. The vocalist on their track, St. Panther came out on stage to sing the song live for us. It was a pleasant surprise for fans. Overmono closed out the night with their beloved song “Good Lies”.
Overmono put on an unforgettable show. They’re growing more than ever and we can’t wait for more! I highly recommend you see them when they play in a city near you!
