Singer-songwriter Jackie McLean and musician Shawn Strack are the two brains behind “Roan Yellowthorn.” They are the effortless blend of indie pop, rock, with folk influence.

Jackie, daughter of Dan McLean (singer of “Bye Bye Miss American Pie”), is so much more than a vocalist. She is an incredible storyteller. Shawn, brings the instruments to make it complete. The two together are a powerful duo who complete their task of entertaining. Most of all, my favorite part is their sense of storytelling. Each song creates a new universe to listen into, and I got lost in their ways.

My favorite song off the album was “Factory Man.” Listen to it for yourself on September 28th, and make your own opinion. You can listen to their current single, “Talk About It” on music streaming platforms now. While doing so, prepare yourself for their album release of “Indigo” on September 28th.

If their music alone isn’t enough to convince you to listen, their album artwork is absolutely mesmerizing. It’s effortless and breathtaking in one snapshot, and that is the best way to describe their album. I will be an incredible feat, and we can’t wait for you to hear it.
