Rock N Roll music is back to Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL) this fall at Zilker Park and it has gotten a little heavier than recent years.

Sir. Paul McCartney and Metallica will gracefully rock the main stages on Friday and Saturday both weekends during the festival. With additions of something we rarely see at ACL, heavy bands, Deftones and Disturbed will each make a mark on their specific weekends, with Deftones going weekend one and Disturbed weekend two.

We’re not used to seeing bands as heavy as these two or even Metallica, but this year is different than previous and that’s what we think stands out most about it.

We would like to think it’s a Hip-Hop vs. Rock fight to see who has the better fans during the festival. Childish Gambino and Travis Scott are set to headline the fest for the Hip-Hop genre, with Gambino performing both Sundays and Travis performing on Sunday during weekend one and on Saturday during weekend two. Other rap artists set to perform are BROCKHAMPTON, a new crazed rap group that skyrocketed their career this past year. Khalid and Janelle Monae will also be taking the stage for the Hip-Hop fans at the festival this year.

The wild card of the match-up would be the pop genre which can include many of the artists on the lineup, but we’ll give them big points by having Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello each headlining their specific weekend with Mendes performing during weekend two and Cabello on weekend one.

There are many great artists that will take the ACL stage and make it theirs, and we’re pretty excited to see how it all comes together. Check out the line up and let us know who you are most excited to see this year at ACL.
