Following the release of their first album in four years, Rubblebucket stopped by the Live Music Capital of the World to showcase the gleeful, sparkling beats and energetic funk of Earth Worship. Enchanting the crowd of Austin’s Come and Take It Live, the group’s front persons Kalmia Traver and Alex Toth bounced from stage to floor with light-footed ease.
Hitting the stage with the title track “Earth Worship”, the two encouraged the crowd to sing and dance along as Toth crowd surfed with his trumpet and as Traver danced with members of the audience. The night consisted mostly of tracks from the group’s latest album and slowly made its way to a crowd that was eventually screaming to the hits “Carousel Ride” and “Came Out of a Lady”. To end the night, the band came back onstage for an encore and performed several more songs before thanking the crowd and parading to the merch table marching band style while audience members cheerfully followed.
