Set It Off brought their “Welcome To Elsewhere Tour” to Houston and it was an incredible show that should not have been missed.

Fans were lined up at the venue hours before the show trying to make sure they got a good spot to see their favorite band. The venue required everyone to be fully vaccinated or provide a negative PCR test, you could overhear many fans saying they were happy it was being handled this way because it kept the fans, and artists as safe as possible, wearing masks was also strongly encouraged throughout the night.

The show had an amazing lineup consisting of No Love for the Middle Child, As It Is and Stand Atlantic. Each of these artists brought something incredible to the stage with their presence and music styles. No Love had a brief set but it was something that got the fans attention, he invited everyone to come out after his set to meet him and take pictures and talk. As It Is was full of so much pent up energy, headbanging, mic swinging, and moshing took over the venue while they performed. The last opener, Stand Atlantic, constantly moved throughout the stage while performing new fan favorite songs like “Deathwish”, “Pity Party’, and old favorites like “Blurry” as well.

It was finally time for Set It Off’s turn to perform and everyone screamed in excitement. When there was 15 minutes for the show to start a voice came on over the speakers giving updates about the show and having a countdown. In between each intermission different songs played, from Doja Cat to a song from “A Goofy Movie”, which was very nostalgic for many people. Finally, the time came for the band to perform and everyone was cheering and screaming in excitement. I’ve been a fan of the band since Warped Tour 2015 so even I was excited trying to contain myself in the pit.

The band, consisting of: Cody Carson, Maxx Danziger and Zach Dewall came on stage with their neon look and started the set off with the song “Skeleton” from their highly anticipated album “Elsewhere” which premiers March 11. Everyone screamed at the top of their lungs and sang at max capacity. Some of the fans haven’t seen the band since Warped Tour or longer, personally for me it was about 6 years since I last saw them and was beyond excited for what was to come.

The band then continued to play songs from all their albums including fan favorites such as “Why Worry”, “Ancient History”, “Dancing With The Devil” and many more, they truly incorporated every era into this set. Carson had so much energy and stage presence, it was incredible to see. He would go from one side of the stage running, leaping and singing all at the same time, it was truly impressive. There was a small break in the show where he thanked everyone for joining them at the show, and that he was very grateful, considering the status of the world in the pandemic. He let everyone know to be cautious and safe as possible, but to not forget to have a good time.

The band then went on to perform a 9 song medley which featured songs like “Dream Catcher”, “Bleak December” (A personal favorite of mine), “Partners in Crime” and many more! The crowd was very surprised at how the band managed to combine all the songs together and make it sound so effortlessly done, it was great seeing fans switch from one song to another without missing a beat, it shows how big of fans they really are. The band played “Bad Guy” next where the drummer Max and singer Cody swapped places, Max singing and playing the ukulele while Cody was pouring his soul into the drums, it was nice seeing a little switch up in the show.

The band continued to sing more songs before wrapping up the show with “Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing”. Cody let everyone know to scream, dance as hard as possible and to go all the way out with this song. The energy in the room was absolutely incredible. Below are the dates for the “Welcome To Elsewhere Tour”, if they come to a city near you, please make sure to attend, its not a show you want to miss!
