Snail Mail @ The Riviera Theatre – Chicago, IL

Lindsey Jordan, better known by her stage name Snail Mail took the stage of The Riviera Theatre in Chicago in front of thousands of fans cheering for her. Lindsey can’t hide a big smile through the whole show.

The stage was decorated with statues of cherubs, flowers and a red backdrop with her stage name surrounded by more cherubs, ad hoc to her sophomore album Valentine, released in late 2021 and was acclaimed by fans and critics, and finally after 6 months since its release fans could have a taste of the new songs live as it was performed almost in its entirety.

Highlights of the new songs included the self-titled song “Valentine”, “Automate” and the acoustic “Light Blue” in which Lindsey captivated the whole audience just with an acoustic guitar and her voice, showing full recovery after going under vocal chord surgery at the end of last year.

One of the best moments of the night was when Snail Mail played a cover of “Tonight, Tonight” by The Smashing Pumpkins, paying tribute to one of Chicago’s most beloved bands in their hometown.

The crowd showed great excitement when Lindsey played songs from her EP Habit, as well as songs from her debut album Lush, like “Heatwave”, “Golden Dream” and “Full Control”, in which the crowd exploded in cheers and sang along to it.

The end of the night came with an encore consisting of “Mia”, last song of the album Valentine, and finishing the night with “Pristine”, her most popular song. Although Lindsey didn’t interact with the audience as much, you can feel there was a special connection between her and all her fans attending the show that night.
