The Driver Era brought the “Obsession Tour” to 713 Music Hall with support from Thomas Day on Saturday night – both of these acts gave the audience a night to remember.
Inside the venue, fans were buying merchandise, taking pictures with friends at a photobooth and making new friends. The venue was filled with fans wearing incredible outfits, from old Driver Era tour shirts, to even some shirts from the Austin & Ally TV show, everyone came dressed for the occasion. The night started with Thomas Day opening the show. The singer captivated everyone’s attention by singing songs such as “Vicious”, “Masochist” and even “Pretender”, fans in the crowd were giving it their all singing along.
It was finally time for The Driver Era to perform. The lights dimmed, the audience screamed in excitement and the show started. A giant curtain was hanging across the stage, and lights were flashing displaying the band members’ silhouettes, starting the show with the song “Touch”. Soon the curtain fell and everyone released a giant cheer of excitement, they were finally seeing the members of the band in the flesh, their excitement was priceless. The band continued with songs such as “Better”, “Keep Me Up At Night” and “The Weekend”. Ross took a moment to thank fans for coming out and expressed how excited he was to play in Houston.
As the night went on, the band played songs from their entire discography, including songs like “Same Old Story”, “Natural” and “Can’t Believe She Got Away”. There was also plenty of interaction between the fans and Rocky and Ross – making the concert feel very personal and intimate. As the show winded down the band started playing some of their popular hits such as “Afterglow” and “Rumors”. The night ended with fan favorite “A Kiss”, Ross and Rocky thanked everyone for coming out to the show before heading down to the barricade and high fiving fans. It was truly a night to remember.
