The Faim @ Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill – Dallas, TX

The FAIM | Abby Stanford | TX

It was high energy from the moment The Faim hit the stage in Dallas. All four guys came running and jumping onto the stage and set the bar high for what the rest of the set would bring. They started their set with their song “Saints of the Sinners” and the crowd was immediately hooked. Front man, Josh, was constantly thrashing around the stage and was already going into the crowd by song number two of the set! The band continued on to play “My Heart needs to Breathe” which was one of my personal favorite songs of the set.

Throughout the entire night, The Faim kept the audience engaged and involved in the show. They were going into the crowd, going up to the barricade, and just generally very entertaining and energetic. As a photographer, stage presence and crowd interaction is one of the biggest things I look for ata  show, and The Faim has some of the best I had seen in a very long time.

Overall their set was high-energy pop-rock music, but they did a few moments to slow it down with songs like “Make Believe” and what has become my favorite song of theirs “When It Comes.” During these moments you got to see this really cool vibe with the crowd where you could tell that the lyrics were making this immediate impact.

This group has taken huge strides in their relatively short time together, working with co-writers such as, Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy), Mark Hoppus (blink-182), Josh Dun (Twenty One Pilots), and Ashton Irwin (5 Seconds of Summer). They have also already done impressive touring with bands such as PVRIS, Against The Current, and Sleeping With Sirens, and played festival staples including Reading & Leeds, Slam Dunk, and more.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching these guys perform and have become quite the fan of theirs since the show. The days following the concert I had their music on repeat. If you have the chance to catch them on tour supporting Andy Black this spring they will be on the road with him in the US until May 17th, and I would highly recommend it.
