What could be better than playing live music in a room full of people after having to play it in your living room to a camera? Well, the “What Could Be Better” tour starring The Happy Fits with Snarls and M.A.G.S. came to The Loft in Atlanta, GA on December 11, 2021. At the end of last year, The Happy Fits did a series of live shows from their living room and this year they have got to play these songs in 32 cities before Atlanta. The show was opened by Snarls and M.A.G.S.. Snarls’ moody pop songs and M.A.G.S.’s upbeat pop punk set the crowd up for a good show.
Opening with “Go Dumb”, the intro song from their 2020 album that doubles as the name for the tour, The Happy Fits immediately got the crowd going wild. The energy made it hard to resist dancing as they continued on with upbeat, popular songs such as “Two of Many” and “No Instructions”.
Cellist and vocalist, Calvin Langman, connected with the crowd by sharing that he went to Mercer University, a college in Macon, GA, for a year and that is also where he met his girlfriend. His connection to the state got the crowd more hyped as they continued through the set.
The last song of the night “Too Late” was kicked off by Calvin getting the crowd to chant along to the beat of the intro. The energy was high and Langman definitely kept that going as he ran in circles around the drum set as lead guitarist and vocalist Ross Monteith kept singing.
Overall, it was a chaotic night that kept getting better with every set. The Happy Fits are on their way to the top after having multiple nights sell out as well as venue upgrades. They are continuing this tour next year starting in February. Atlanta won’t be on the tour route but they will be playing a few cities very close by as well as playing the famous Shaky Knees festival here in May.
