The Marías performed to a sold out crowd at 713 Music Hall in Houston on their Submarine Tour and wow – was it an incredible show.
The line outside of the venue was incredibly long, there were hardcore fans camping out most of the day making sure they were able to get a good spot for the show. Fans were wearing outfits inspired by the new Submarine album as well as the previous album, Cinema. The merchandise on this tour was one of the best I’ve seen, from incredible tour shirts to signed posters and vinyls, the fans who were lucky to get their hand on signed merchandise were filled with excitement.
It was finally time for the show to start. Slowly the band members started coming out and María’s silhouette appeared and led into the first song of the night “Hamptons”. Immediately fans started singing and cheering in unison. The set was followed by songs “Run Your Mouth” , a personal favorite, and “Real Life” from Submarine. As the setlist went on, “Little by Little” and “Un Millón” from Cinema were also performed. María took a moment to thank all the fans for coming out and was excited to give them an incredible show.
The band performed “Ruthless” which then transitioned into “Lovefool” and wow, were the audience cheers heard throughout the venue in excitement. During “Over The Moon” the stage created a silhouette which resembled the moon and had María performing in front of it, it was a magical moment to see. María then took a moment again to talk to the audience and find out which countries fans were representing, as she named countries one by one (El Salvador, Puerto Rico etc) one country had the loudest cheer, Mexico – it was amazing seeing how many people from different cultural backgrounds were in attendance.
One of the most memorable moments of the show was when the band performed “Otro Atardecer” , a collaboration with Bad Bunny – everyone sang it at the top of their lungs. The show was slowly coming to an end with songs “Echo”, “Hush” – the last songs of the night were fan favorites “All I Really Want Is You” and “Cariño”. The show surpassed any expectations myself and fans had, it was truly a show to remember. If the tour comes to a city near you make sure to attend, it’s a show you won’t want to miss!
