Tom Walker - Music, Why Not!

Tom Walker, a European singer/songwriter, is gearing up to release his debut album later this year. His latest single “Leave a Light On” is an emotionally explosive song that infuses hope after each listen. We got the chance to chat with Tom and get to know a little more about him.

Music, Why Not: Hey Tom! Could you tell our readers a bit about yourself?

Tom Walker: I’m Tom Walker, I write tunes and travel around the world playing them to lots of different people.

MWN: What do you do during your spare time (if you have any)?

Tom Walker: I’ve been on the road constantly for the past 2 years but I usually spend it at home just chilling with family and friends, nothing too rock ’n’ roll unfortunately.

MWN: What has been your most exciting accomplishment to date?

Tom Walker: There’s been so many over the past two years from supporting some of my favorite artists to selling out my whole UK and European tours and getting to travel around the US supporting The Script. It’s hard to pick just one the past two years has just been mental.

MWN: Your song, “Leave a Light On” has a very powerful story behind it. Would you share that with us?

Tom Walker: It’s about a friend of mine that was going through a bit of a hard time so I just wanted to write a song to let them know and others who have been going through a similar thing that there’s always going to be someone there for you.

MWN: You’ll be in the US touring very soon. Any place in particular you’re excited to see?

Tom Walker: The US is so big and I can’t wait to get out there. There’s nothing particular I’m excited for because usually the best parts of my trips to the US are the unexpected bits, so I’m just excited to see what happens.

MWN: What song is your current obsession?

Tom Walker: Tom Misch – The Journey. I’ve been listening to that song non-stop for like a year now.

MWN: Who would you love to tour with or have on a tour with you?

Tom Walker: Paolo Nuttini – If I could share a stage with that guy that’d be mint.
