A wise man once said “We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion.” A quote never rang truer than when Craig Stickland and Tom Walker took the stage on August 6th in Rough Trade NYC. Stickland kicked off the night and delivered what appeared to be a musical roundhouse kick to the Tuesday night crowd. With the entire set teeming with guitar riffs and emotionally charged hits, songs such as “Warning” and recently released single “Break Every Rule” caught the audience by storm. With upcoming sophomore album “Starlit Afternoon” set to release soon, Craig Stickland is a force to watch out for.

Once more on the topic of passion, the thoroughly warmed up crowd let loose a small scale riot as Tom Walker and crew walked onto stage. From the get go, the power and emotion in Walker’s vocals drew the crowd in and took them on a journey. Highlighting the wrongs of the world in “Dominoes” to the pains of a failed romance in “Fade Away.” Though marking the end of their North American tour run, Walker and crew closed the show out with a bang, cementing themselves in the heart of every single person there as they walked back out to a crowd roaring for an encore.
