Twenty One Pilots brought The Clancy Tour to Houston with support from Balu Brigada, and wow, they did not dissapoint.
Fans spent hours in line waiting for a good spot for the show, it truly shows the dedication that they have for their favorite artist. Attendees were dressed up in signature Twenty One Pilots outfits, took multiple photos outside of the venue and some were even lined up early at the merch stand making sure to get something that they will have for the rest of their lives in memory of the tour.
The show started off with the sibling duo Balu Brigada, from New Zealand. The duo thanked fans for coming out early to the show and expressed their excitement to play in Houston for the first time. They played songs from their discography such as “Moon Man” and “2good”. Attendees were very much vibing and hyped the duo up. The duo finished the set with “So Cold”, and fans cheered for them as they did an incredible job at opening the set, Balu Brigada made some new fans and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for them.
Up next was the main act of the night, Twenty One Pilots, consisting of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun. The lights dimmed, and the venue was filled with screams of excitement from fans. The duo opened with “Overcompensate”, followed by “Holding on to You” where Tyler went into the crowd with fans and sang with them. I knew that this was going to be a great night. “Car Radio” had one of the biggest surprises, Joseph was performing on stage and after jumping off stage, he appeared in the nosebleeds, shocking everyone in the venue.
As the show went on the duo played songs from their entire discography such as “Tear in My Heart”, “Backslide”, “Shy Away” and even the hit song “Heathens”. Tyler and Josh soon went into the crowd and made their way to the B Stage, stopping along high fiving fans and taking selfies with some as well. They performed a medley of songs which included “Addict With a Pen / Migraine / Forest / Fall Away”, finishing off with “Mulberry Street” before making their way back to the main stage. One of my favorite parts of the show was when “Heavydirtysoul” was performed. Everyone was singing at the top of their lungs and the stage had the coolest lighting and pyro effects, it was beyond memorable.
The show was slowly coming to an end and songs such as “Fake You Out”, “Lavish” and “Ride” were being performed. During the final chorus of “Ride”, the duo had a young fan named Jodie on stage and had her sing this final part, the venue cheered her on in support. The final songs of the night included “Midwest Indigo” and “Stressed Out” before finishing off with “Trees”. Josh and Tyler continued their tradition of performing this song in the crowd and filled the arena with confetti to end the night.
This was my first time seeing Twenty One Pilots and Balu Brigada, and they did not disappoint! If the Clancy World Tour makes a stop near you please make sure to attend, it’s a show you won’t want to miss!
