Wet Leg hit The Echo on Monday night for the first night of their two night mini-tour of Los Angeles.

The two come to California with a massive amount of buzz in 2021.  Earlier this year, the duo from Isle of Wight released two singles that took the indie world by storm.  The instantly catchy, post-punk “Chaise Lounge” and “Wet Dream” boast unique, evocative lyrics matched with jagged ear-worm riffs.  It didn’t take long for both tracks to rack up millions of plays on streaming services.  Recently, Wet Leg released two more killer tracks.  “Too Late Now” is the best track of the four; the bittersweet, delicate first half explodes into an all-out jam about halfway through.  “Oh No”, on the other hand, showcases their ability to be a little more direct and in-your-face.  With just four tracks out, the hype was at critical levels, but how would they fill out a whole show?

With an album coming out next April, the duo raced through what one can only assume is the entirety of the new record.   It spanned about 45 minutes and there was never a dull moment.  All the tracks were logical next steps from the first four released, but also had their own distinct moments of brilliance.

By the end, you could tell the crowd wanted much, much more but for now this will have to do.  Always have to leave them wanting more, right?

Wet Leg continues their tour with a few quick stops on the west coast before they head back to the other side of the pond to open for Idles in London.
