In the little town of Jackson California, singer/songwriter Aaron Lewis played his second show of the weekend at Jackson Rancheria Casino and Resort. A sold out show, with not only fans of his country music, but also fans of his band Staind, where he started his musical career over 20 years ago.

Branching away from his well known genre of music feels so fluid and natural. Aaron Lewis had grown up a “country boy” listening to musicians like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Cash. Going back to his roots to make music that doesn’t exactly fit with the popular country music played today, hasn’t hurt his career at all. In fact, he has found a whole new following, and die hard fans that have followed him throughout his career.

His show at Jackson Rancheria was very intimate, and he loved to interact with the crowd, which really shows who he is as a person and as an entertainer. A fan had given him a shirt that read “Liberals Suck”, and he donned it the entire show. Another moment to connect with the fans, he passed out guitar picks. He shared the stage with Ben Kitterman, playing songs from his last three albums, “Town Line”, “The Road”, and “Sinner”. “Granddaddys Gun”, and “Country Boy” are absolute fan favorite tracks, and you could hear the audience sing along with these songs the entire time. He changed up the mood a bit with the Richard
Marx song, “Right Here Waiting For You”. Closing out this show on the tour, Aaron made sure to play “Its Been Awhile”. At the end of it all, he pulled away from the microphone and sang to a hushed crowd “Intro”.

Aaron Lewis is an artist that has seemed to prove his stay in the forefront of whatever genre he tackles. An amazing voice, with the ability to write his own songs, we most likely will not see him slowing down any time soon.
