This past Saturday night in Mountain View, California, you were most likely attending the concert of one of the most well known, and well loved southern rock bands in America. Lynyrd Skynyrd has been a staple in country and rock music for the past several decades. Perservering through hardships, and member changes due to tragedy, LS has been able to stay a top band throughout. Meaningful, bluesy, songs that are still catchy, and the ability to continue to rock a top poistion in music for almost 50 years.
In January (2018), Lynyrd Skynyrd announced their farewell tour. Fans filled Shoreline Amphitheater in excitement to see these guys one last time. LS played all the well known hits, along with other tracks the more involved following enjoy. We heard it all. “Gimme Three Steps” & “Tuesdays Gone” were most definitely fan favorites. The crowd sang along loud, enjoying the vibe. LS did not disappoint, feeding the crowd more energy and showing us that that even though this is the last tour, they are giving all they got. It was truly an memorable moment, and i was honored to be able to be a part of it right along with them.
It is bittersweet to say goodbye to a band that has helped shape a new genre of music, inspired so many other bands, and for me personally – as a fan my entire life. Lynyrd Skynyrd will forever be in our hearts, and played through our radios. Farewell, guys.
