MWN: Can you introduce yourself for us, and tell us, like a bit more about yourself?

BilionAir Carter: What’s up, I’m BilionAir Carter. I’m a former childhood actor turned rapper and recording artist from Los Angeles, California. My latest single, “2 Real”is out now on all streaming platforms, so check that out.

MWN: Tell us more about the song “2 Real”; what was the creative process in making this song?

BilionAir Carter: It all started with the beat being created by KYNGS. When Adam Spira was listening to a Bryson Tiller & Young Thug song he thought I’d kill a production like that. So they created 2Real; the next day, I went into the booth and started freestyling, structuring the song around my flow.

MWN:: When creating “2 Real”, do you ever feel that the lyrics and messages in that song can relate to any listener hearing this song and that it gives a purpose of motivation, rather than the opposite?

BilionAir Carter: “Only way is up, journey to the top, take off, gotta have patience.” That bar is universal and very positive because in my previous single “Only Way”. The Only Way is Up for all of us! And our journey is just like Nipsey Hustle says it’s a marathon so you have to be patient.

MWN: In one of your lines in the song “Yeah I like acting up, been doing this since I was a nut;” how did that bar resonate with your creative growth and experience, from being a child actor to a rising rapper?

BilionAir Carter: That bar is one of my favorite[s], if not [my] favorite line of the song. But it breaks down me acting up since I was [a] nut in a sack beating the millions of other sperm cells to being busted out straight into perfection. It actually had nothing to do with me being a child actor but it has that underlined meaning.

MWN: Why did you decide on not wanting a hook for “2 Real”? Do you feel that it would’ve made a crucial difference in how the song would be portrayed?

BilionAir Carter: It just felt right with the song being two minutes. I decided to be the realest version of myself, all gas no brakes, but I also give you a sample of a hook in the end. Maybe leading to a part 2 in the future who knows “shrugs shoulders.” I feel like it benefited the song because I know it makes you want to go back and listen again wanting more.

MWN: How did you get the name, BilionAir Carter? What was the inspiration of your stage name?

BilionAir Carter: I had a vision one day thinking how much money would it take for me to make to take care of everyone. I came up with $100,000,000 a month which equals to 1.2 Billion a year. Which would be able to change all lives drastically! You all are my inspiration! It’s spelled with only one L because I don’t believe in taking two L’s you learn your lesson and that’s that. It’s Air because the Only Way Is Up!

MWN: Who are some of your musical influences?

BilionAir Carter: Nas, Lil Wayne, Michael Jackson, OutKast, Gucci Mane, Earth, Wind & Fire, Lauryn Hill

MWN: Usually, with those influences, would there be a creative process, like when you’re writing a song or album, or would it just be within your own self?

BilionAir Carter: When it comes to my creative process it’s solely whatever my spirit is feeling. I’m very in tune with my spirit. That’s why I love freestyling, creating organic melodies. As far as writing that just comes from the feeling as well, I rarely save what I freestyle for versus. But of course, the music I’ve heard throughout life definitely played a toll on my creative process. Thank you to all I’ve listened to and who I haven’t yet.

BilionAir Carter: It would be Cardi B because I am all about generational wealth; her latin world would give me a whole Hispanic culture following. There for creating offshore accounts, dual citizenship etc. And it’ll mend the negative energies between us Blacks and Hispanics.

MWN: Usually, for other people out there that want to pursue your dreams, if there was someone that was wanting to follow your footsteps what would you like to tell them?

BilionAir Carter: I would say get your credit right so you can hold onto your cash while leveraging your credit. Talk to me if you want to follow alongside to learn how to do what I did independently funding my dreams. Make sure you follow your heart because doing what you love to do will forever bring you joy and nobody can steal that.

MWN: Do you have any final words to say before we finish the interview?

BilionAir Carter: I want to say thank you to all that have tuned in! I want to see you all successful continue being the 2REAL version of yourselves at all times. Know that the Only Way Is Up at all times. Please follow along my journey and check out my website bilionaircarter.com. If you have Instagram, please follow me at @bilionair_carter.
