The Brit quartet played a killer show at The House of Blues in Dallas, Texas on March 16. Their almost two hour long set was filled with energy that electrified the entire venue. They set off the night with one of their new tunes “Longshot.”  They then erupted into “Kathleen” an old fan favorite from their first album The Balcony.

Their light work was wicked awesome. It seemed to really capture the mood of the songs which also kept the crowd going on their feet the entire time. Catfish and the Bottlemen played songs from The Balcony including “Pacifier,” “Fallout” and a major banger/ fan favorite “Rango.” They also carried the night on with tunes from their sophomore album The Ride such as “Outside,” “Twice” and “7.”

The House of Blues was nearly bursting at the seams and I can assure you that not a single soul in the room left without feeling some sort of emotion. Front man Van McCann, lead guitarist Johnny Bond, Drummer Bob Hall, and bassist Benji Blakeaway are monsters on stage. The energy they emit throughout their set is mind blowing. Their fans are all in or nothing. They were singing along to every song that sometimes Van had to stop because the crowd was so loud. During “Hourglass” the crowd took command of the chorus leading it to the very end.

From their unreleased album The Balance they played “Sidetrack” and “Fluctuate” both very well perceived by the crowd. They wrapped up the night with the Catfish anthem “Tyrants” which is always such a powerful way to end a night of good rock music. They are the definition of what a live guitar band should sound like. If you have the chance to see them in your city we highly recommend it!
